Going on a mini scouting/buying trip at the Las Vegas wholesale market, looking for treasures to share with you. “Market” is the place retailers and designers go to find merchandise for their shops, or to find unique items for their clients. I’m going to look for items that are beachy, deserty, textured, nature inspired, soft colored, and boho - you know, JHM style. I want to supplement the handcrafted items I offer with other beautiful pieces to round-out a whole boho vibe for our homes.
I’m going to be looking for textiles (rugs, pillows, throw blankets), dried plant materials (palm fronds, pampas grass), rustic baskets, macrame inspired items, things made of straw (bags, hats, etc), imperfectly perfect vases and pots, beautifully packaged natural candles, anything with raw crystal points, wooden beads, seashells and feathers.
I can’t wait to show you what I find! Check out my stories to get a glimpse of the inspirational shopping trip.
FYI - I’m going to take it easy, rest often, and my sister is going with me to make sure I’m do well. I don’t have a lot of energy, and the market is huge, so I won’t see it all, but I’m excited to do as much as I can, and fill my mind with inspiration.

I have big news. My sister is moving to Utah, and since her address is my legal/official address, and since I spend the winters with her (ordinarily), I’m vicariously moving to Utah. Their house is right in the middle of a beautiful red rock area. It is so pretty there! I’m really looking forward to spending time there, and exploring all that Utah has to offer. The actual move will take place in about a month and a half, but it’s coming, and I’m excited!

We (Furgus, Cozy, and I) went for a drive around the block this morning (you can watch the big outing in my stories). I know it sounds easy, but it’s a big deal to be able to do that. There were a lot of days, in the last months, spent in bed, when going out to Cozy was impossible. So, being able to take her for a spin around the block feels fantastic! In the interest of full disclosure, when I was done, and back in the house, I was breathing hard and sweating profusely, so there is still more recovery to be done before we’ll be road-ready, but we’re getting a lot closer! Thanks again for all your support and encouragement, it’s really helped me through this yucky part of the journey!

One of my favorite places. I can’t wait to get back to Cozy, and her little-bus art studio. I remember, and dream, of the days parked at the shore, looking out the windows, playing with paints and pens. It feels like a lifetime ago. Happy Birthday Furgus! This sweet boy recently celebrated his second birthday. Humor me for a moment, while I gush about my cat. He has been the best copilot a girl could ask for! More recently, he has taken on the role of caregiver. His devotion, during my recent journey back to health, has been nothing less than spectacular! Our life went through a lot of changes, and he adapted to all of it, touching hearts all along the way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’ve asked some questions, and here are some answers. Yes, he can tell when I’ve had a treatment, and apparently he doesn’t like it. Right after treatment he sleeps on a chair, next to me, but not on the bed. After a day or two, he’s back in the bed, doing his best to take care of me. When I feel really bad he is my constant companion, he doesn’t even want to go to the kitchen to eat, so we keep a food bowl in the bedroom with us. On the good days, we make our way to the living room, and he plays with his kitty-cousin Grayson. Those boys are really going to miss each other, when it’s time to go. He’s also going to miss the ice cube chasing game. He has continued to visit and go for rides in the bus, and walk on a leash, so hopefully he’ll happily adjust back to buslife when that time comes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Today is a big day! I’m happy to say I’m feeling better today, after my final round of chemo, and do you know what the best part is? This time, I will continue to feel better and stronger (rather than getting knocked down by the next round of chemo), and that fills me with optimism! I am dreaming of spending time in nature, having the energy to create, exercise, and travel. I see the twinkly light at the end of the tunnel, and I’m going for it!

I’m going to need some time to regain my strength, but this is a big landmark in this journey! I will still have two years, every two months, of non-chemo treatments, which is a major inconvenience for a nomad, but a huge improvement over the last months. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you for all your prayers, support, good vibes, and love! We still have a ways to go, but we’ve made it through the bumpiest part of this road, and I want you to know how much your support has meant to me! I love you, my little tribe!
